Disney Magic: Gisele Bundchen

Disney has continued with it's Disney resort ads for its "Year of a million Dreams" promotion shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

In Where You Never Have to Grow Up,The Peter Pan sequence Gisele Bundchen portrays Wendy, Tina Fey is Tinker Bell (a poor choice) and Mikhail Baryshnikov Peter Pan. This is one of my favourites from the entire campaign, and this past one of Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella.

Where is the Little Mermaid?? And who will be perfect enough to be Ariel?????

my standards are incredibly high for my favourite princess.

Your Beach Wardrobe: See by Chloe Cruise 2008

In accouple of weeks I will be heading to Barbados for a nice relaxing beach vacation. One would think I would be cruising through school with no worries on my mind, however, how can I be relaxed when I need to plan the perfect resort suitcase?! This proves to be quite the dilemma after the past couple I have spent bundled up to my eyes braving the cold Canadian winter.

My mind is at ease after looking at the See by Chloe cruise collection...

your welcome spring breakers.

End of an Era: Farewell Valentino

Valentino Garavani retired at the age of 75 after designing for 45 years. His designs are chic, sophisticated and timeless, always representang a woman's figure in the finest form. Valentino will be remembered for his impeccable red dresses, only one of many trademarks he will leave upon the high fashion world. His successor is Alessandra Facchinetti, the ex-Gucci designer.

Master of Gowns: Valentino Haute Couture Spring '08

One of the first things that pops into my head after viewing a feminine and elegant show, such as this, is what lucky A-List actress will be jaunting down the red carpet in one of these beautifully crafted garments. The show was everything one could expect for Valentino's last runway show. He gave back to the audience everything he embodied and created. The lace, the layers, the beading, the sequins, the draping and folding, the bows, and lady-like silhouettes. The show opened with soft coloured pastel cocktail dresses, suits, and overcoats and ended with breathtaking floor-sweeping gowns (I have selected my favourites). Noticeably missing was the Valentino red gown which unveiled on every model for his finat walk down the catwalk.

Fashion's Primary Colours

Lately I have found myself gravitating towards all things bright and bold. The pigment of sunshine yellow and electric blue captivates my eyes. They are statement pieces that draw us in without being overly decorated, the draw is the colour alone.

Not only am I admiring that beautifully coloured shoe or bag, suddenly the urge to own it is irrestible. For christmas I got a brillant pair of patent red closed toe platforms that I fall in love with over again with every outfit I pair them with.

Here are some other bold pieces to covet:

1. Jill Stuart, Daria strapless dress
2. Fendi, Perspex logo cuff
3. Moschino Cheap & Chic, silk ruffle skirt
4. Christian Louboutin, cat woman T-bar shoes
5. Miu Miu, eleasticated cut-out shoes

Miu Miu Spring 2008 ads

I am as thrilled about these ads as I am about the entire collection. I know Kirsten Dunst's tendency to dress like a dirty, bag lady usually inclines us to cringe and look away. However, her pale skin and bright eyes provide the perfect contrast to Miu Miu's colourful ballerina and pierrot inspired dresses of Spring.

L.A. vs New York

One can't help but notice the style contrast of the branded, logo happy, frumpy sweatpant wearing annoying chicks from Highschool Musical ( L.A. scene) compared to that of Blake Lively and Leighton Meesters' (Gossip Girl) glamour and class.

Strip Tease is so 1990's

Ew...do I even need to say more?

i think we can spare my eyes and the rest of the world from Demi Moore's 40 yr old *cough* accented by a gigantic V.
seriously V magazine it's been too long since you had a descent cover shot.

Shows upon Shows

I took a little bit of an extended vacation, hope you don't mind. I have been busy getting back into the swing of school and working on some trend forecasting projects for my friend. I have not yet finished reviewing the Spring 2008 shows that I feel are the most innovative and refreshing. I will continue with Milan fashion week.
