Comme des Garcons collaborates with H&M
Rei Kawakubo, designer of Comme des Garcons is known for her unconventional techniques. Her designs vary with the seasons but common themes such as a playful use of texture, fabric and color, with exaggerated volumes and proportions remains constant.
Launching in Tokyo in November the collection will include women, men, children's wear, accessories and a unisex fragrance.
Buy Now: "The Cheap Date Guide to Style"
"Kira and I always wanted to do a book. We couldn't stand the kind of style books that were out, that were based around celebrities dressing up and looking fake and dull. Style for us was always about individuality, being inspired by everything from punk rock to movies to absolutely anything—but in your own way. Not being dictated to, and definitely not aspiring to look like a celebrity on a red carpet, or a celebrity obsessed with big new expensive handbags, horrid jeans, and sunglasses. That seemed to be all there was out there. So that's where the book idea came from. A bit reactionary, I suppose." - Garnett

Björk - Wanderlust (2D preview)
Beng an extremely tactile person (i love my fabrics) it was impossible not to post this preview of Björk's new music video. I'm not a big fan of Björk, however, I do recognize her uniqueness and abilty to continue to inspire the world through her innovative technological embracements. This 'Visual Language' is the 2D preview, the 3D will be released April 19th online. enjoy.

Spring Beauty Trends: All Occasions
From the Park to the Dark: Flowers in Bloom
I was in New York last weekend for Easter and not only noticed the tiny green buds on the branches lining park pathways but the growing floral prints on dresses, skirts, heels, handbags, bonnets, and men's wear.

News: Paulo Melim Andersson leaves Chloe
Melim Andersson has been creative director of the French fashion house Chloe since fall 2006 after leaving Italian label Marni. Andersson has shown three collections for Chloe each exemplifying an edgier, abstract quirkiness to a line which has long been associated with romantic, girly Parisian notions. Andersson latest fall 2008 collection fulfilled elements of Chloe's charm like tea dresses and ruffled edges, however, the collection was met with mixed reviews.
Paula Melim Andersson is an example of a designer with a tremendous amount of talent, however, not the right fit for Chloe despite a 9% increase in Chloe sales during his 2006-2007 year.
Hannah MacGibbon who worked under Phoebe Philo for 5 years prior to Andersson has been neamed the new creative director.
Alas, Chloe is back in a woman's hands.

Spring 08 Look Book: Elizabeth and James
The Olsens reveal their Spring 2008 Elizabeth and James collection in a series of photos portraying young women running daily errands around town. The in-action shots catch everything from grocery shopping to climbing subway steps. The scenery depicts California's coast and New York's streets, not entirely unfamilair of the twin's own stomping grounds....
Style Icon: Marion Cotillard
I was prepared to do an oscar gown post, unfortunately, to be quite honest none of the gowns really intrigued me or deserved to be discussed. Instead I found myself watching one actress who prior to Sunday night (I must admit) had never been on my red carpet radar, Marion Cotillard.
I'm sure most of you know her now due to her Best Actress win for La Vie En Rose. After a little research I found numerous photos of her at events around the world and saw that her French, chicness was not only apparent in her Gaultier Paris Haute Couture gown, Chopard jewelry, and Swarovski clutch at the oscars, but innately present.
french women have that 'je ne sais quoi' ....
